Prov 10:25
When the Storm is over, there’s nothing left of the wicked, good people, firm on their rock foundation, aren’t even fazed. MSG
- The storms come to all. Being a Christian doesn’t remove all the storms from your life. There is no promise that the storms will stop coming but only that our Rock won’t be shaken and that if we build our life on Him when the storm is over our life will still be standing. Matt 7:24-27; Ps 62;6 Prov 10:30; 12:3, 7; 24:16;
Prov 10:5
Zzz 5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame. NKJV
- Prov 26:13
- The wise look ahead; the lazy look at the moment. The wise gather before there is need, so for him there will never be lack. The lazy relax now insuring that later he will be full of need. Prov 22:3; 28:26; How far ahead of time are you preparing things? I think I struggle here. I think I tend to procrastinate. God help me to look ahead and to manage my time well.
Prov 9:6
6 Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.” ESV
- Wisdom has a price. Here it says leave. There are things that you will have to give up; they may be things you have known all your life. But part of the price of wisdom is leaving or letting things go. Are you willing to leave things?
- Prov 4:7; 28:13;
Prov 8:33
Hear instruction and be wise, And do not refuse or neglect it. AMP
- One of the fist steps to wisdom is listening. Are you listening? I suppose that the search for wisdom is done mostly with ones mouth shut. We do not learn much while we are talking. We apparently undervalue the ability to ask, wisdom is found in listening to answers.
- Vs 6 & 10, 36; Prov 22:6; 29:26
Ps 25:9
9 The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way. NKJV
- God will teach those who will listen. Am I humble enough to listen, to receive correction? God I want to be humble, I want to receive your instruction not defend myself and the reasons I made wrong choices.
- Ps 141:5(correction is a blessing) Prov 1:5 (the wise hear and increase in learning) Prov 16:18 (pride comes before destruction) those who think they are always right don’t receive correction, they choose to face the consequences of their mistakes before learning, and still they often refuse to change. (Prov 26:11)
Rom 4:9-10
Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. NKJV
- As they speak of circumcision it represents the law. It is stating that he was declared righteous when he believed not when he followed the law. Rom 5:8 tells us that God loved us while we were still sinners. Therefore like Abraham our righteousness is not based on our merit or performance. Rom 4:4, because it isn’t based on our perfection our lack of perfection doesn’t lose or change it. God’s love for us is not connected to our performance. God thank you for your grace and mercy.

Ps 20:7-8
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 8 They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. NKJV
- What is your trust in? Some trust in money, some trust in people, power, fame, and some trust in themselves. Have you decided where you place your trust? Verse 8 declares that those who trust in other things fall but we shall rise because our rock will not be shaken.
Prov 28:9
9 One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. NKJV
- 1 Thess 5:17;
- What kind of prayer is it if you have turned your ear away from the law? If you are not really interested in God or His word why should He speak. It is when you seek with all your heart that you find. Jer 29:13 Not when you seek yourself with all your heart. Do your prayers seek God’s face or just his blessing for yourself? Prayer is not meant to be a self-centered action. Hos 7:14
Prov 28:4
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But such as keep the law contend with them. NKJV
- Do your actions praise the Lord or the wicked? Your life talks, what do your actions say? Prov 20:11;
- I was just thinking this morning the wicked and the righteous our not two roads they are opposing forces. One cannot dance between them; your every act is celebrating one or the other. Whose team are you playing for? I think there are a lot of people that want to be on the team of the righteous, and the wise, yet they play for the wicked and the foolish. They think that they can some how dance between, or sit on the fence. This is a fight and your every action is fighting for one side or the other. Do you know who you are fighting for?
