Luke 23:34
4 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. ESV
- They don’t know what they are doing. What am I doing? What are you doing? Do we know? Here they were legally committing a horrible crime. As ordered they were crucifying the Lord. Am I just marching through life blindly unaware of the crimes I am committing? God help me to see what I am doing and to live for you. I want my every choice to bring you honor.
Mark 5:36-39
36 But Jesus ignored their comments and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me.” 37 Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter and James and John. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw the commotion and the weeping and wailing. 39 He went inside and spoke to the people. “Why all this weeping and commotion?” he asked. “The child isn’t dead; she is only asleep.” NLT
- Jesus spoke with authority and with no doubt even when others brought a bad report. He did not tolerate negative talk. By saying she is only asleep He was speaking as though she had already been healed before she was.
Prov 9:8-9
Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. 9 Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning. NIV
- Part of the price of wisdom may be letting go of pride the wise receive correction. That means they admit that they were wrong, they don’t know everything and that they can learn from who ever is correcting them whether it is some one highly respected or not.

Num 6:24-26
24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. ESV
- Lord, I ask that your blessing would be on myself and upon my family. I pray that it wouldn’t just be my famil, but the 180 and all its leaders, Res and all its members, upon those who follow you far and wide. I ask that as we seek you, your blessing would be poured out on us that we may be a blessing to those around us.
Prov 24:12
12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? NKJV
- Excuses
- Excuses don’t work well with your creator.
- Gen 3:12; Ex 4:10-12; 32:22; 1 Sam 13:11-12; 15:13-28; 16:7; Prov 20:4; Ecc 12:14; Jer 1:5; Matt 6:4; 25:25-26; Acts 7:22; Eph 2:10
- He sees through every excuse we make, He sees our heart. Most of our excuses are insults to God any how. He created us, to say to God “I can’t… “, “But I am not smart enough”, “tall enough”, or “talented enough”…. Is to tell God that He did not make you right and doesn’t know what He is talking about. No excuse will do as we stand before God.
- Lord Help me to live a life without excuse, an excuseless life. Help me to walk in Your ways, and when they seem to big for me help me to go on in Your strength.
- Those that refuse to admit they have a problem or that they made a mistake are doomed to repeat it. Prov 26:11;
- Just because you can justify it doesn’t make it okay. Prov 30:11-12; Rev 3:17; What we justify and what God considers justified are very different Rom 1:32; 14:22; It says to be careful not to condemn yourself by what you approve of. Those who confess their sins find mercy those who don’t are condemned Prov 28:13;
