1 Sam 16:3
“Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you.” (NKJV) -
God rarely gives you all the directions at once. He tells him, “go here and invite them and I will show you what to do.” Most of us would like all the details ahead of time, but God often gives us one step at a time. God, help me to be faithful with what you give me even if I don’t see the whole picture yet. Help me to be obedient and to trust that when I finish the first step you will give me the second step.
Hag 1:5
5 Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. ESV
- Have you considered your ways or are you just living one day at a time. Just running through whatever life throws at you? Do you even know where you are going? They hadn’t considered their own path and selfishness had become what was guiding their lives. Have we taken the time to make sure we know where we are going in life? Do we know what is guiding us?
1 Chron 14:10
10 And David inquired of God, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.” ESV
- God spoke to David in response. If you want direction from God you need to learn to ask.
- If we don’t cast our cares on him they will remain our burden 1 Peter 5:7; We are not supposed to be worried about things we are supposed to pray Phil 4:6; . Have you gone to God to determine your direction. The answer is waiting for the question John 16:24;
