Easier said than done.

1 Cor 9:27

27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. NKJV

-          Matt 23:3; Lord help me to do all that I know to do. It is so easy to give others wise advice. Yet it can sometimes be hard to just do it yourself. You know what you would tell someone else if they were in your spot, but it can be hard to do. Many things are easier said than done. Lord, help me to do what I know. Help me to bring my obedience to the level of my knowledge. Help me lord to never have a double standard or hypocrisy in my life. Prov 3:5-6; Matt 23:3;

-          1 Cor 11:1; 1 Thess 1:5; James 3:1

What will I do tomorrow?

John 16:3

3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. NKJV

-          John 15:21; Once again we see their actions are dictated by what they know. If my life is an overflow of what is in my heart Prov 4:23, all I know, believe, and desire determines what I will do. What am I filling up with? My choices and what I meditate on today are what determine what I will do tomorrow. Ps 119:11 states that he has hidden God’s word in his heart that he may not sin against God. He chooses what knowledge he would be full of today, so when he was confronted with a choice later, the overflow will determine his steps.  Have you made a deliberate choice, on what you will fill up on? Prov 4:23 tells us to guard our heart. Prov 15:14 NLT tells us that the wise feed on truth while fools feed on trash. Prov 18:15 tells us that the heart of the prudent acquires knowledge. What are you feeding on? Rehoboam never set out to do evil. He just floated along wherever the wind blew him and therefore made bad choices. 2 Chron 12:14. Are you floating along or have you made a choice on what you will be full of? What will direct your steps?

Hidden Treasure

Prov 2: 5

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. NIV

Well I want to understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God! It tells me in the previous 4 verses just how to do that.

Prov 2:1-4

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands with in you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding and if you look for it as for silver and search as for hidden treasure,

So how do I do those things? Well verse 6 says God gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. So, if I read God’s word and accept it for truth, store up His words from the Bible by memorizing scripture, listen for wisdom from the scriptures and from the pastors I listen to at church those should help me. Come on knowledge of God! That is what I need!

Are you a “know it all” Prov 1:7

Prov 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. NKJV

- Realizing God is smarter then you is the first step to wisdom, living for Him rather then yourself.

- Isa 55:9; Prov 16:25; Prov 8:13, 20; 9:10

- He who thinks they know it all is a fool.
