Prov 10:7
7 The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. NIV
- How will you be remembered? Will you be remembered for integrity or for selfishness? Philemon 1:5;
- There are people you meet that make or break a name. Every time you hear their name you either smile or cringe. How will your name be remembered when you leave?
- Reputations are a strange thing. They can be some what like legends. They are formed not by truth but by perception. People give me credit for being more active and crazy then I am. They tend to have a larger then life view of what stands out. So what other areas of my life do they exaggerate, what else stands out that I am remembered for? If your reputation is an exaggerated version of what people see, like a cartoon or characture version of you. What would you look like? What character traits would stand out, kindness or a short temper, generosity or selfishness, bully or defender of the weak?
- Would you like or be proud of the image you will be remembered for? Are there things in your life you wouldn’t want exaggerated or even remembered for that matter? I think there are things in my life. Rather then just trying to change people’s perception of me I think I need to change me. How about you?
- Deut 1:36 is the memory of Caleb, 1 Sam 13:14/Acts 13:22; Recalls David as a man after God’s own heart. What will your epitaph look like? (Alfred Nobel saw his epitaph and changed how he would be remembered)
